Blackheads - the detriment of blocked pores

Hi skincare fanatics,

We're here to inform and educate first and foremost so don't get grossed out about - BLACKHEADS - and whiteheads but blackheads sound worse. clearly.

For most of us, myself included, usually have just the surface understanding of blackheads/whiteheads - aka if we have an oily skin type or our face is dirty we will have them.  We're here to really inform you about blackheads and why it's super important to treat it before it blows up to even more painful skin issues.

whats funny is that blackheads are actually better to have, in terms of trying to remove them because they're an "open" pore that you can remove dirt from easily.

Whiteheads are actually worse than blackheads unfortunately.  The name "whitehead" totally suggests it's not as bad as blackheads but boy was I wrong.  Whiteheads are "closed" pores that have debri stuck underneath the closed pores aka a heck of a lot harder to get rid of because you'll need some sort of extraction tool and/or CLEAN fingernails to squeeze them out (don't be grossed out, i know we've all done it at some time or another).

I've had my fair share of acne breakouts and they are in large, due to having white heads in the easy to form areas in the T-Zone area.  You sweat the most in those areas so naturally, you would attract the whiteheads to form there as well. What really honestly helped me and my teenager transformed to adult acne, was exfoliating to take off the sebum (sebum is the oily debri that clogs your pores) and keeping my face well hydrated for the whole day and also drink lots of water to hydrate inside and out.

For me, my skin regiment has been:

1) Amaze Exfoliating Gel

It honestly helped me tremendously to get rid of my whiteheads naturally, effectively, and also it wasn't harmful to my skin.  It literally only takes off the very first layer of dead skin where you are regenerating so you leave your skin literally clean as a whistle!

2) Pure Hyaluronic Acid Eye & Face Serum

My all time favorite hydrator.  Seriously. It applies to nicely just like a little thicker than water feel and it dries matte and absorbs right into the skin so it DOESN'T clog my pores because it's water soluable aka it goes right into the skin and underneath to hydrate from inside out.

You never want a exfoliater that "takes off more than it can chew" in terms of skin.  Anything with beads or grinds could potentially be more harmful than helpful to the skin in terms of exfoliating because it's so hard to see what it is and isn't taking off.  For keeping your skin hydrated, I would definitely recommend something that doesn't sit on top of your skin (gels and oils) - especially those prone to oily skin.  Those with oily skin like I use to have, should definitely be on the look out for hydrating creams/serums that soaks right into the skin so the cream itself doesn't act like a pore clogger as well.

Hope this was informative and if you have any questions, give us a call we're always here to help at the office!

Cheers,

Victoria
