Selfcare: Washing Your Hands, The One that Prevent Dry Hands

Posted by Viva Health Skincare on

“There’s really no question that frequent handwashing decreases the chances of catching or passing on a variety of different types of bacteria, so it’s very reasonable to believe that an increase in good hand hygiene practices has helped limit the spread of COVID-19.” Said by Dr Harvey Lui (from Vancouver Coastal Health).

Washing your hands is very essential to our daily life. Soap and water is one of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of germs. If you cannot use soap and water, you can use a hand sanitizer that has at least 60% alcohol to cleanse the hands, but it does not get rid of all types of germs. More importantly, you should remember to wash your hands after these key times:

    • When you touch your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands
    • Preparing or eating food and drinks with unwashed hands
    • When you touch any contaminated surfaces or objects

Washing hands more often is good for your health, but it may not be good for your hands when you wash it too often. The soap and hand sanitizer remove the natural lipids on your hands, which can make it dry and brittle. It is important to put on a layer of moisturizer to protect your hands after washing or sanitizing. If you have a wound on your hand, you need to take care of the wound first.  By using a natural moisturizer, it can offer you better care of your hands, and can prevent second damage from some chemical ingredients and fragrance.

With Viva’s The One Ultra Rich Hand Cream, you are in good hands. We added coconut oil, which replenishes the skins barrier, and seals in the moisture to keep it healthy and young looking. The zinc oxide can effectively protect your hands from UVA and UVB, and slow the aging process. We also added aloe vera extract and mango butter in it, where the aloe vera can help with soothing the skin, is anti-inflammatory, and it provides deep hydration to prevent irritation and cracking of the skin. Additionally, Mango butter boosts the hydration level for this hand cream as well.

We made this hand cream with no scent on purpose because many people may be sensitive to certain smells, and since we are washing our hands more than ever before, we ultimately will also use more hand cream than ever before. Keeping it unscented allows for all day application without compromising yours and other people’s sensitivities, especially in the workplace. Even with The One Ultra Rich Hand Cream being unscented, the hand cream still smells so good and velvety.
